Project Overview
This Mortenson project was developed as a multi-piece promotional effort centered on the company’s data center capabilities. Along with a strategic promo video, the work included a 12 page brochure created to highlight Mortenson’s scale, infrastructure expertise, innovation, and integrated delivery approach. The project brought together storyboard planning, script development, copywriting, layout strategy, motion design, video editing, and AI-assisted creative workflows to create a cohesive brand presentation across print and digital formats. Each piece was designed to communicate Mortenson’s data center story with clarity, polish, and a strong visual narrative.
3D Aerial animation of Minneapolis featuring Mortenson Construction
This video was developed as a concept-driven piece to showcase Mortenson Construction through a blend of 3D visualization, motion design, and editorial storytelling. The process began with modeling, rendering, and scene development in Cinema 4D and KeyShot to establish realistic environments and visual tone. Design elements and graphics were created in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, then brought into After Effects for animation and compositing. Final editing, pacing, and audio refinement were completed in Premiere Pro, resulting in a cohesive piece that combines technical accuracy with polished, brand-aligned storytelling.
Data Centers - Brochure
Developed a 12 page data centers brochure for Mortenson that translated complex construction and infrastructure capabilities into a more accessible, visually driven brand piece. The brochure combined strategic copywriting, layout planning, and content organization to highlight campus scale, technical infrastructure, innovation, and integrated delivery in a format designed to feel both professional and engaging. It was developed as part of a larger marketing package strategy alongside the promo video, helping create a more cohesive and versatile brand presentation.
Video Production and Editing
Handled the full video production and editing process, including scene pacing, text overlays, visual asset selection, motion-based messaging, audio refinement, and final assembly. Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and AI-supported tools were used to shape the final piece, combining cinematic footage, branded transitions, music balancing, and structured editing to create a polished promotional video centered on Mortenson’s data center work.

Image to Video
Used AI image-to-video tools in Runway to transform still visuals into dynamic motion sequences that added energy, depth, and a more cinematic feel to the final piece. This process helped extend creative possibilities beyond standard footage by introducing subtle camera movement, atmosphere, and visual continuity while staying aligned with the overall tone of Mortenson’s brand. The result added another layer of storytelling and helped create a more modern, forward-thinking presentation.

Storyboard and script
Developed the storyboard and voice-over script to define the structure, narrative flow, and messaging of the video from the beginning. InDesign and supporting creative tools were used to build the visual sequence, align timecoded scenes, and shape the overall direction of the piece. This phase helped establish a strong foundation for a video that felt intentional, organized, and aligned with Mortenson’s brand and data center focus.

Logo animation
Created logo animation to give the video a stronger branded opening and closing presence. After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator were used to develop motion that felt clean, modern, and professional, helping frame the piece with a more cohesive and elevated visual finish.

B-Roll Footage
For the b-roll footage, I pulled inspiration from several Mortenson video resources to help guide the visual storytelling, pacing, and overall tone of the piece. Find Your Reason | Hyperscale Data Centers, A Bird’s Eye View of Mortenson - EAG Data Center, and Innovation in Data Center Construction helped inform the use of aerial views, jobsite activity, and infrastructure-focused visuals. I also looked to Project: Innovation at Embassy Suites as inspiration for the design layout, using it as a reference point to keep the presentation polished and consistent with Mortenson’s brand standards.
